June 15: More skylights and a shower pan

Things are slowing a bit till we get our tile, granite and plumbing selected and purchased.  We're trying to stay on top of that.  We'll probably go look at stuff this weekend (in between cabana swim meet and softball tournament).

Some pics Cali took of the new stuff.  Some might be stuff that's already been shown.

This looks like the same as before.  Nothing new on the front.  I think Cali likes it.  We all do.

This is the entry hallway.  On the right is the living room.

Nothing new in this room.  We all like it though.  We're looking forward to the video setup.

The stairwell again.  On the right are the offices and guest room.  Beyond is the laundry room.

Something new!  The fixed skylight in the stairwell.

A crazy angle pic by Cali.  Looks like she's wearing the white softball pants and painted her nails in Diamonds colors.

This looks to be the new skylight in the master bath.

This is looking at the master bath through the wall of the master bedroom.  The new skylight can be seen.

And something more new.  The shower 'tub' in the guest bath.

June 8: Kitchen bay window and stairs

We've spent some time looking at and purchasing granite.  The girls bath room is done: Pearl Blue, or something like that.  The floors and shower walls are simulated marble.  The master bath is done: Some greenish swirly type.  The floors and shower tiles are still being selected.  The laundry is done: Kashmir Gold.  The floors are yet to be selected.

The bay window that's over the kitchen sink.

Placement of the 20amp electrical in the server room.

The engineered wood for the upper stairs.

Cali checking out the new stairs.

I think Cali likes the new stairs.

More pics of the stairs from the family room.

Hmmm.... this should be rotated counter clockwise.  The stairs from the upper floor.

The kitchen ceiling with the skylight hole.

June 2: Kitchen skylight and ceiling. Odd drains. HVAC return locations.

On Saturday, after Alex's backstroke event at the Santa Clara Invitational I went over to the house to check on things and do some digging I found Matt and Jose installing the kitchen skylight and working the ceiling.

This is to show the area above the family room ceiling.  We're trying to find a good place for the HVAC return.  We're thinking somewhere in that area.

This is the second floor on the landing in front of the master bedroom.  It's also the other side of the wall in the pic above.

The return might be in the wall somewhere here.

Matt and Jose did a lot of framing while I was there.  Matt also put up some joints for the 8' section.

This is the skylight box and the ceiling.

A close up of the ceiling where it changes from 8'6" to 8'.

Another view of the skylight box.  It needs a few more framing members.

This is what I did.  Dig up the odd drainage pipe.  I now know why it never drained. It really wasn't connected to anything.
