January 17, 2013: Tile, doors, texture and more

Things are progressing.  I've been trying to take pictures of everything, but I'm not always home when things happen.  Or the camera batteries run out. Or I need to work with the subs to make final decisions.

The pictures jump around a bit, but here is what happened over the last few days....

The sewer connection was completed and signed off.  The hole (more like a mini-mine) has been filled.

This picture is so that I can find the sewer clean-out later after landscaping is added.  I never knew where the old cleanout was till it was dug up.  I think it was under a few inches of dirt.

The master bedroom has been textured.  It's been cold here so the texture is drying a bit slowly.

We've been working on ideas for the fireplace.  We've found good pictures in the houzz site.  Francisco (cabinet) and Sandon (tile) have contributed good ideas too.

The doors are at-ease in the kitchen waiting for deployment.

The drywall finishers are working the great room.  Looks like they might be finishing the taping, but maybe they are starting the texturing.

The guest bath shower is being tiled.  There are two shelves in the back corner.

Sandon doing his magic on the master bathroom.  He's got the glass block windows installed.

With the glass block installed, the outside stucco can now be finished.

Texturing Alex's room.  This is a sort of old-world smooth finish.

Texturing the family room ceiling must be really tiring on the arms.

The master bath shower is nearly complete.  The floor and trim are installed.  The glass block wall, the granite seat and the grout will finish it.

The drain is rectangular and directly at the bottom of the seat.

Down stairs at the entrance to the laundry room.  This is what it looks like front lighted.

Same view with back light.  We got a glass door to let in the light from the ten-light door to the south facing side yard.

Out front the final coat of stucco is being applied.

I must've been walking in and out today.  Here is the guest bath shower.  It's looking more complete.

Back outside on the south side.  The second story part is complete.

The final stucco coat is finished with a sponge trowel.

Back to the guest bath again.  Jason is getting ready to install the trim.

Going upstairs I found the glass block wall had been installed.  The edge of it is on the left (above).

The master bath with all tiles (except baseboard tiles) and glass block installed.  Only grout and the granite seat remain.

Outside the master bedroom on the balcony the stucco guys are finishing the wire around the glass block windows.  The scratch coat gets applied, then the brown coat, then the final coat.  That will probably complete this week or weekend.

These are the wires for the bathroom floor heater.  The taped up wires are the sensor or control.  The power wires can be seen through the hole at the bottom of the wall.

The hall in the stairway from the family room.  One of the ten-light doors has been installed.  Looks good.  Next pictures should show most, or all the doors with trim.
